Erasmus Darwin

Although a leading intellectual in his own right, Erasmus Darwin is most famous for being the paternal grandfather of Charles Darwin. He was a physician, philosopher, naturalist and poet, and his book Zoonomia or the Laws of Organic Life (1794–96) brought him much fame.
