Plans for an Asda store in Kingsway, Gloucester have been submitted. If approved, it is estimated that 230 jobs will be created.
After a year of discussion with Gloucester City Council, and a public exhibition, changes have been made to the plans, including lighting improvements, more parking spaces, and bus stops in Naas Lane.
Over 99% of the public interviewed agreed that building a food store there was appropriate and all agreed that the local economy would benefit from the jobs Asda will bring. If the plans are approved, the Gloucester, Kingsway store will include a cafe, over 200 parking spaces, bicycle racks, and recycling facilities.
