Asda online gives you access to online shopping for food, clothing, and much more.

Asda Online Shopping

The main presence of Asda online is the asda.com site. This is definitely the one Asda online site to bookmark. It gives you immediate access to the two other sites for online shopping - grocery shopping and 'everything else'. 

If you keep a careful eye on the url bar, you will see that grocery shopping proceeds on the groceries.asda.com site, while shopping for most other items occurs on the direct.asda.com site.

One big problem with the asda.com main site is that it doesn't have a search box. Imagine you are searcghing for 'grapes'. The best way to fin dthem is, obviously, by typing 'grapes' into the nearest search box. So why doesn't Asda offer one? It's probably a result of its shopping being split off into different sites. So you need to click over to the groceries.asda.com site and search for 'grapes' from there.

But,  if you are shopping for groceries on the groceries site, you will have no joy when searching for, say, most items of electrical equipment. For example, search for 'dryer' and you end up with a list of dried fruits but not the clothes dryer you were looking for. To find that clothes dryer you need to be on the direct.asda.com site. 

A complicating factor is that there isn't a neat separation between grocery and direct shopping. For instance, you might expect radios to be found on the direct shopping site, but not the groceries site. In fact, they are found on both!

Yet another complicating factor is that there are several other ASDA online shops and associated sites, including asdamobile.com (for mobile phones), and asdafinance.com (for Asda financial services.)

To get around all this complication, always start on the asda.com home page and click on the appropraite links to get you 'close' to the kind of items you are looking for. That should get you on the right site for performing a useful search.
