Debenhams Jobs: Sales Adviser

Sales Adviser is the general job title given, by Debenhams, to entry level workers, working on the front line, dealing with customers. More than most entry level jobs, it requires energy, personality and enthusiasm. That is, you require the physical energy to spend many hours a day standing around in a store and doing light lifting work. But this is nothing like the physical energy needed by a street cleaner or gardener.

The energy most needed by a Sales Adviser is emotional rather than physical, and this ties in with the other necessary qualities. Dealing with customers non-stop requires great reserves of emotional energy, personality, and enthusiasm.

So don't think that working as a sales adviser is an 'easy option'. It's a serious challenge, but it can be me more satisfying than you might at first think. You also need to be a team player, and to give the highest level of Customer Service. You have to focus all the time on keeping customers happy and wanting to come back to Debenhams.
