25 Oct 2010 Strong online shopping sales for Sainsbury's Sales for Sainsbury's online shopping up 25% in the second quarter.
26 Mar 2010 Sainsbury's online expects non-food sales to increase after a slowdown in the last quarter of 2009. Sainsbury's is confident of rapid expansion in clothing, homeware and entertainment as shoppers look for value in the tough economic climate. Sainsbury's aims to become Britain's fifth-biggest clothing retailer by 2014, from tenth now. Sainsbury's onlike non-food operations, unlike those in stores, are not yet profitable. But Sainsbury's online non-food business, launched in August 2009, was performing in line with expectations. Sainsbury's plans to launch "click and collect" points in 11 stores in the coming months, where customers will be able to pick up online orders in store.
10 July 2008 The BBC reported problems with Sainsbury's online shopping service. These ranged from suspension of service due to equipment theft to operation disruption due to internet outage.
18 June 2008 The Independent reports that Sainsbury's online shopping was suspended because of technical problems. Sainsbury's offered a £10 voucher to affected customers.
