A Short Dissertation on Tesco Dissertations
This short dissertation suggests how to approach writing a business analysis of a retail company, with Tesco PLC as an example.
Any business analysis of Tesco will probably consider at least some of the external and internal factors affecting the company. There are various analysis techniques available to any dissertation writer, including:
- PESTLE analysis, or the shorter PEST analysis.
- Porter's Five Forces Analysis
- SWOT analysis
These techniques are similar in some ways and different in others.
PESTLE and SWOT analyses concentrate on the general, strategic categories of external forces affecting the company. Porter's five forces are more about immediate business influences.
- PESTLE and SWOT analyses have different emphases, but compliment each other well.
For example, you can use a PESTLE analysis to consider the strengths and weaknesses of political and economic impacts separately.
Alternatively, with SWOT analysis, you can approach the problem from the other direction. That is you can, for instance, look at the strengths and weaknesses of Tesco and see if they are political or economic.
