WARBURTON, BARTHOLOMEW ELIOT GEORGE (1810-1852). —Miscellaneous writer, born in County Galway, travelled in the East, and pub. an account of his experiences, The Crescent and the Cross , which had remarkable success, brought out an historical work, Memoirs of Prince Rupert and the Cavaliers (1849), and ed. Memoirs of Horace Walpole and his Contemporaries . He perished in the burning of the steamer Amazon .
