Ask Jeeves and subject-specific popularity
18/11/06 Apostolos Gerasoulis, the expert behind the search algorithm of the Ask.com search engine, gave an interviews to BBC Click Online. He suggested that Ask Jeeves, unlike Google, has a subject-specific popularity algorithm which will make it more likely that Ask will provide pages from expert sites. He suggested that Ask Jeeves' image search was the best, and in the near future their tag based capabilities will improve their search facilities in many areas. There are about 100 ingredients that the Ask Jeeves search engine looks at when searching, which is thought be roughly the same as forGoogle.
