Encyclopedia britannica is a comprehensive educational resource for the general reader.

When I was a schoolboy, the Encyclopedia Britannica in the local reference library was my most trusted source of information. For homework projects, or just for the fun, I would walk two miles to the library to read "my" Britannica in the splendour of the Edwardian reading room. In those days, the librarians enforced a strict code of silence, thereby creating a haven for peace and learning.

Today, I still use the print version of  Encyclopaedia Britannica at the public library. But the noise and garishness of the modern reading room makes my visits short. But, fortunately, there is an electronic version at home. I have the full Encyclopedia Britannica for the price of a computer game, with no noisy cell phone users or chatty librarians to interrupt me. Also it has superb search facilities, and there is even more material than in the 32 hardback volumes.

So why not buy a copy of Encyclopedia britannica? It has a much greater reputation for accuracy than the average web page. Give yourself, and your children, one of the world's greatest benefits: access to accurate and well organised information.

Encyclopedia Britannica contains articles by the greatest thinkers of all time, including past and modern masters. For instance, you can learn relativity from Albert Einstein, psychoanalysis from Sigmund Freud, and complexity theory from John L. Casti.
