One wonders why two articulate chaps like Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman need help with the writing, until you read the book. Robert Uhlig does a great job. I guess the film background of the protagonists enables them to know when t bring in the experts. That said, Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman do produce a diary with candid views on their friendship, their wild encounters, and the support crew.
Ewan MacGregor (to use my way of spelling our clan name, for the moment) came up with the idea to bike round the world and dragged his best friend Charley Boorman into the exploit. Catastrophe plays leap frog with adventure as they encounter gangsters in the Ukraine, Nomads in Mongolia -- and ruthless paparazzi over the 20,000 road trip.
Like Michael Palin on speed Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman throw themselves into the culture and activities of every country they encounter -- like caviar fishing in the Caspian sea, wrestling with the Mongolian Olympic team and riding with the Canadian Mounties.
