9:00pm - 9:30pm BBC1 Have I Got News for You 3/8 Satirical news quiz with team leaders Ian Hislop and Paul Merton. Guest host this week is Fern Britton, panellists include Reginald D Hunter, Adam Boulton
9:30pm - 10:00pm BBC1 Ruddy Hell! It's Harry and Paul Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse with character based comedy show, showcasing posh builders, shady Nelson Mandela, Didier Peskovitch, Jose Arrogantio (take off of Jose Marrinho) With Morwenna Banks and Laura Solon.
Record 9:00pm - 10:00pm Channel 4 Ugly Betty - American comedy import in the same tradition as Desperate Housewives, but not quite as good. Based in a fashion magazine, and much of the comedy comes from the vanity of the fashionistos. Betty is the normal, hard working girl who keeps the fashion victims in line with good humour and native charm. Watch out for her Glaswegian seamstress friend, teleported in from Extras. This week: guest star Lucy Liu.10.00pm - 10:30pm BBC2 QI Panel show chaired by quite intelligent Stephen Fry, with consummate ease and winning charm. Alan Davies plays his dumb side kick, three guest stars help out. Each week is based upon a general theme that allows Stephen Fry to display his intelligence, and his panellists to writhe in ignorance.
10.35pm - 11.35pm BBC1 It's Friday Night with Jonathan Ross Interviewer Jonathan Ross mkaes his A to Z list guests uncomfortable with his salacious, if often witty, style of interviewing. Four Puffs and a Piano provide the backing music, and the show usually ends with a leading group.
