7.00-7.30pm BBC1 Castaway Reality TV series following volunteers stranded off the coast of New Zealand, who aim to survive for 12 weeks without electricity or running water. Several weeks in, tensions are rising.

7.30-10.00pm ITV UEFA Champions League Semi-final, second leg: Liverpool v Chelsea. Two English clubs fight for a place in Europe's most important cup final.

9.00-9.50pm BBC2 Horizon 8/9 The Six Billion Dollar Experiment No it's not Chelsea's experiment to dominate European football with Russian money. It's CERN's Large Hadron Collider (LHC) experiment in Geneva, which will explode into action in November 2007. It aims to create the conditions in the Universe one billionth of a second after the big bang, by colliding fast-moving protons together and looking at the "pieces" that come out of the collision. If the theories are correct, a Higgs boson should be seen. Theories suggest this particle gives all other particles their mass. Some people suggest that the experiment could accidentally create a black hole and suck in the whole planet by mistake. Watch this programme to see if this is a real threat.

Record 9.00-10.00pm Five CSI: Crime Scene Investigation 15/24  Law of Gravity Gil Grissom's is back! But his temporary replacement, Keppler (Liev Schreiber), still takes the starring role. A  prostitute and her client are murdered in a Las Vegas hotel room. Keppler has links to them, and finds himself on the wrong side of the law. Catherine and the other CSIs have taken to their new eccentric colleague. Can they help him out?

10.35-11.15pm BBC1 One Life 12/12 - Famously Reincarnated Eccentrics who believe they are reincarnations of famous people like Merlin and God. As, according to most churches, God is alive and kicking how can someone be his reincarnation? The answer is more elusive than the Higgs boson.

11:00pm - 12:00am Five Law and Order: Special Victims Unit 10/21 - Consent Elite New York police squad investigates sex-related crimes. A college girl is found dazed and raped, but is reluctant to press charges.
