8.30pm-9.00pm BBC1 Panorama Vivian White examines the increasing separation between Muslim Asians and whites. He reports on a northern English town where the communities feel divided by religion, culture, language and skin colour, and where many white residents are leaving the area  

8.00pm - 11.00pm BBC2 Snooker World Championship Hazel Irvine and Ray Stubbs present live coverage of the concluding frames of the final at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield. This is the end of the snooker season. Graeme Dott won in 2006, beating Peter Ebdon in the final, but Dott's first-round exit ensured a new champion this year. Analysis by Steve Davis and John Parrott, commentary by Clive Everton, Dennis Taylor, John Virgo and Terry Griffiths.

9.00pm-11.00pm ITV The History of Mr Polly Lee Evans stars in an adaptation of HG Wells' novel about an ordinary man trying, but largely failing, to pursue his dreams. The aimlessness of drapery, unfriendly neighbours and a nagging wife, persuade Alfred Polly to end it all.

10.00pm Channel 4 ER Chicago is hit by a blizzard. Sam assists Morris in treating a gang victim while, Neela's in trouble for refusing to help Dubenko. Starring Maura Tierney and and Goran Visjnic.

11.00pm-1.20am Five Wolf (15) (FILM) 1994 Jack Nicholson stars as a placid book editor who has an encounter with a wolf man — and decides to avenge himself on a colleague having an affair with his wife. Mike Nichols' horror is well worth watching Co-stars:  Michelle Pfeiffer, James Spader,  Christopher Plummer, Kate Nelligan, David Hyde Pierce and Prunella Scales.
